Current Price: 4,995.00 USD |
This appears to be a
solid, uncut Stearman fuselage for you to replace a bent one or to build an
airplane around. No serial number, data plate or paperwork of any kind.
We’ve looked it
over for bent tubing or indications of accident damage but didn’t see any. The
tubing is painted black and has some rust spots, but does not appear to have
anything serious.
We’ve pulled
together a bunch of Stearman parts to help you get a project started, and you can
see a lot of goodies here.
The fuselage
includes both sets of rudder pedals and both seats. The front seat is wood and
in fair condition and the rear seat is metal. The slide tubes are obviously
rusty and will need to be replated. The throttle quadrant on the fuselage is
poor and incomplete, but there’s another one that is better.
The control sticks
and system are intact and it includes the elevator torque tube, but the sticks
themselves are deteriorated beyond repair. The stringers (bird cage) and
turtledeck appear to all be here but need major work.
You can see the
several pieces of fuselage sheet metal, center section struts, instrument
panels, and four throttle/trim tab brackets. The firewall was probably
galvanized steel over the aluminum firewall and is rusted beyond use.
Local pickup only.
