The engine was professionally overhauled on September 20, 2012, by Norvic Aero Engines overhaul facility, and released with an Authorized Release Certificate.

The engine was removed from a Piper Pathfinder that was retired from service. The aircraft was not involved in an accident and sustained no damage. The engine was removed solely because the aircraft was being retired.

Since removal, the engine has been carefully preserved and stored indoors in a dry, climate-controlled environment and has not accumulated any additional operating time.
