What you see here is what you get. This is off a wrecked 2008 RV7A that appears to have landed inverted, and then probably rolled. I thought that both mains were good, but when I pulled them off the plane and compared them up close, one has a slight bend compared to the other. See picture 2. If I understand correctly, these should both be identical angles. The nose gear is obviously bent. Vans notes that these are made from 6150 steel. No cracking or yielding is apparent at any point in the legs. However they are sold as known to be defective, with the buyer to determine what - if any - repairs are needed or appropriate. .BTW - you can tell if you are looking at the mains or the nose in each photo by whether you are looking at one leg or two. Weight is around 45 pounds.
