Here is a clean, Continental O-470-7-B OR E185-9 Serial # 5414-D, 6 cylinder aircraft engine. This engine is rated at 205 HP @ 2600 RPM and 185 HP continuous at 2300 RPM according to its engine data tag.
This engine is stored indoors in a dry environment and appears to be in good condition. Note the plugs that were put in place to keep the engine closed up.
Since I have NO logs or history on this engine, I am selling it AS IS / WHERE IS as a core for parts. This engine is located in North Carolina about 45 minutes off of I-95. There is a fork lift on site to assist in loading it. I am not interested in shipping it, so this auction is for pick up only in North Carolina. The engine is on a sturdy wood pallet and inside a hangar. I have a Friend that lives locally to the engine and will be happy to assist in its retrieval.
I am told this type Continental Engine was used on Cessna L-19 Bird Dog aircraft and also on some of the Navion's. The oil tank is also still in place and it all looks very straight forward and clean.
