FRANKLIN SILICONE OIL PAN GASKET - AIRPLANE

designed to withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.    

Our gaskets seal uneven and warped surfaces, eliminate corrosion and are 100% reusable.

GASKET IS 1/8" THICK

INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE 

1.           ALL SURFACES MUST BE CLEAN AND DRY,

             NO LUBRICATION OF ANY TYPE.   

             THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE THREADED HOLES IN THE CASE.

2.           TORQUE  20   TO  25   INCH POUNDS. TORQUE GRADUALLY

             AROUND AND ACROSS COVER TO PULL DOWN

             EVENLY OVER THE ENTIRE COVER.

DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN - over tightening makes the gasket bulge or squeeze out.

3.           PERFORM ENGINE RUN AND CHECK FOR LEAKS,

4. IF THERE IS A LEAK, DO NOT CONTINUE TO TIGHTEN

THIS WILL ONLY MAKE THE LEAK WORSE.

REMOVE THE GASKET AND EXAMINE ITS CONDITION.

IF IT IS STILL SERVICEABLE, WASH IT BRIEFLY

IN HOT SOAPY WATER, RINSE & DRY OFF.

RE-INSTALL USING THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS.

5. TO REUSE THE GASKET, CLEAN AS DESCRIBED  IN (4)

CAUTION - DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN!

Overtightening makes the gasket bulge out or "pooch" out.

TO REUSE GASKET: 

Wash gasket in hot soapy water.

Rinse thoroughly and dry all surfaces. 

Re-install using the above installation instructions.
